CAKES!

first of all.... i have eaten too many cookies. i may pop, i may flop, but i'm feeling very lazy, so excuse any spelling errors.
more food issues: i've been baking cakes! YAAAAAAAY!

i baked them for a party at our knitting shop.... but i didnt realise that the malteasers on the top made them look like boobies :( never mind, they tasted good! i want to try baking some with malteasers INSIDE the cakes next time.

i havnt had time to make much lately (you'll see why in my next post), but i've made these little brooches. cute, no? they're just 'i love tea/cake' for now... but i plan to do more. perhaps 'i love robots/books/knitting/cereal.' in other words, just everything i love!

so, i've been quite social lately. i dont usually like to go out that much, im a bit of a 'stay at home' girl. last weekend was my friends bbq, i got very drunk off our home made punch.... here is the punch, as well as me tasting it :S

the punch had fruit in, which leads you in to a false 'this will be fine' thought. ....it wasn't fine. it took me a whole day to recover! never again (it will probably happen again).

sometimes i see things when i'm out and about, and i think 'i would like to take a photo of that, but darn, i left my camera at home.' well not anymore, it has a new home which is in my bag! so i can get snappy happy whenever i want. this was the first thing i was attracted too:

i love finding little cute things like this! makes this city more interesting!

next topic: two words: YARN SALE!
how great/bad are yarn sales please?? they're brilliant in the way that they make me very happy, but awful because i spend too much money. this month i got:

in one day. it will all come in handy for making winter hats and mittens though! honest!
but then i found this cardigan pattern, which i HAD to make, so i ordered 10 more balls of 'sidar just soya' in the lovely 'hot pepper' shade. 10 balls! god bless the hobby craft sale! saved me a fortune.... kind of.

the cardigan is in the Yarn Forward magazine, which my dad kindly picked up for me. i've not read this magazine before, but i was impressed. good articles and decent patterns. i usually find it's one or the other.

ok, that's pretty much it for today.... apart from this....
HOW GOOD IS SEINFELD PLEASE??? i go through fazes of it. i wont watch it for afew months, then i have to watch at least 3 eps every day to feel satisfied.
i was having a very Elaine Benes day yesterday; alot of screaming, not out loud, but within my head. the bus home was boiling, i was screaming inside all the way home.

OK, so I've spent far too much money lately. after today, all i will do is save save save! promise! first of all, new shoes :)

god, i love these shoes. and they were half price :) a size too big mind, but nothing inner-soles can't fix!! and then there's these:

beautiful! i love all things rainbow-ish. and fat trainers. so i ordered them today (I'd been saving for ages) so they should be here by the end of the week. yaaaaay. i wont buy any more shoes for AGES! i have all i need now.

today i also order
d some new books to read. I've been reading a lot lately, love it! I'm quite into the Debbie Macomber books right now, so i ordered the last of her blossom street series (which i love!) and another one of hers.... plus a book called 'Casting Spells' by Barbra Bretton. it's not a witch craft book, do not fear, just a nice story about a knitting shop apparently. so that's good.

i have new note books also (stationary is very important to me!):

my friend Bex got me the 'Things to Make' note book. it looks like a normal book, but it's blank on the inside. plenty of 'ideas' space!
you will also notice some vegan cheese in that picture. i put them together purely to save on the number of photo's. FINALLY I've found some cheese that wont give me a migraine. obviously it's not real cheese, no dairy at all. i tried some before, it's going to take a lot of getting used to. we'll see how it goes. tomorrow i plan to make some vegan ice cream, too :) after coming across a very easy recipe online, i thought i should have a go. i crave ice cream all the time, and regret eating it every time! no more!

so, what have i been knitting? the answer is mainly: birthday presents!
I've made a couple of these hats for friends birthday's last month:

it's the meret pattern that's available on ravelry. nice and easy. i made it 'extra slouchy' by doing four rounds of the pattern.
it was also my boyfriends little sister's birthday. her name is ruby, she's very cute, and a little emo :) i made her this toy with her name on it, similar to the one i made for the bf last year:

oh! here's another thing i bought today (it was very cheap though!):

an owl wind chime! how cute!?! the rainbow light catcher behind is not attached, i just only had one possible thing to hang it on for now, so they're sharing a nail.
I've been brain storming. trying to think of new little things to make, and sell, that don't take too long. i thought of some little brooch's like these:

that pic is not very clear, but you get the idea. hopefully it's not just me who loves tea, cake and books. i like to think there's more people like me out there. i thought I'd share with you some pretty pictures I'm loving at the moment. they're by an artist called Julie West. here, have a gander:

Lamb Banana

well well well, long time no speak!
i have been absent for no particular reason, other than my lazyness!
latest news: i decided not to move out with the boyfriend.... and for some reason to stay at home with the folks! what's the matter with me? i do not know! but things are cheaper this way, and i still get 'self' time. isn't that a 'win win situation'??? i'm not sure to be honest. time will tell.

also, i somehow managed to get through the WHOLE of lent (yes, lent. i'm not a religious gal, but i was proving a point to myself) without any cake or biscuits!!! hard? very. but i'm quite proud of myself :)
however, in the last week, now being able to eat whatever i want, i have eaten FAR too many cakes and a silly number of biscuits. naughty me. but now i know that i dont NEED them every day, they shall be treats only.... i hope. it's weird how i never lost any weight during lent, but managed to put weight on within ONE WEEK when lent was over... how annoying!!! time to lose afew pounds!

ok, so what have i been making? oddly enough, clothes for a banana. yes, a banana:

....a Lambanana to be exact. for those of you who are not familiar with my city (Liverpool), the Lambanana is a piece of art that is in the city. mini versions are very popular and my driving teacher (Jane) loves hers. so this (above) is Larry, and i made him some clothes for different occasions. his black jacket and bow-tie for when he goes on dates, a Liverpool kit, and a play suit (with a fitting learner badge on the side).
this project was proving hard when i was trying to KNIT outfits, and then someone suggested that crochet might be easier. i never really got the hang of crochet before, so i tried again and managed! YAAAAAY!

i've jumped on the 'cupcake bandwagon' lately (it must have been from my withdrawals) and made some things to sell:

let's hope they sell! i need the penny's. gotta love the cakes though!!

i don't know if i've ever mentioned my love of owls! gosh, i love them! i found this in Asda afew days ago... £2 what a bargain!

all i need to do now... is some gardening! i got my free Blue Peter seeds in the post, so if it's sunny again tomorrow i will get on to it.
i also purchased some excellent cushions in Ikea yesterday, i will post a picture next time. but they're button themed... all crafties will love them!
